Memories of our special friend Dawn are numerous, from meeting you when both our families moved into Sandpiper Close and we ‘clicked’ straight away. Shopping days, having deposited the children in school, fun on Bury Market and being turned away from the lingerie stall for laughing too much at different items, family days out, New Year’s Eve parties (which continued for many years after we moved to Yorkshire) always fun even when you would fall asleep and we would just throw a blanket over you 😂The excitement when we had a street party and dressed the children in red white & blue. Your friendship, help and advice over the years will never be forgotten.
I will always remember you reading the poem ‘Warning’ by Jenny Joseph and saying we will do this…….
“When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me……..”
We thought we would grow old together, it wasn’t to be but the memories I will treasure and never forget.
Rest in peace now my Bestie -
All Our Love

Dearest Mum and Oma, you are now at peace and my heart is thankful for this , if a little bit sad. I know you are proud of us all and that you will be smiling down, free of the dementia that locked you away from us for so long. Now you are free. Free to chat away with all those lost before you and to guide us from afar. I will look for you in rainbows and will take comfort that now that you are no longer with us in a physical sense you are all around us. A presence for good, kindness, generosity and a little bit of naughtiness :)
